DIY | SPLATTER PAINT ART

Do you ever feel like sometimes your craft ideas are too intense and often just sit on your Pintrest board just WAITING to be EXPLORED? ME TOO! When I am in the craft store (mostly Hobby Lobby) I look at SOO MANY THINGS and say, "are you serious...I can do that" and then I try to do it and I end up spending WAY more money than it was in the first place and it is no where nearly as cute as the original!! Seriously...this happens to me more often than not!! EXCEPT for this project. I saw a painting that was almost identical to these, but no where near my price range..(I am a broke college student...HELLO!!) so I did what I always do and tried to do it myself...and it WORKED!

all i needed was:
1.) three canvases (choose whatever size you like)
2.) assorted colored paint (I used black and gold)
3.) fork to splatter with
4.)ability to have FUN

(**note: let paint dry for at least 24 hours before hanging up on wall**)
Good luck & happy DIY day to YOU!!

DIY: fringe scarf

Compared to this Scarve from polyvore for $29

Scarve
I LOVE this DIY because it literally only takes a few minutes and then  you have an awesome statement piece for winter...THAT YOU MADE YOURSELF! HELLO, can't get much better than that. I came up with this idea when I was online shopping..(guilty pleasure)..& I stumbled across the polyvore fringe scarf shown above. However, it was $29 and ain't nobody got time for that! SO, I looked at it and was like hello priss you can totally make that yourself...so naturally...I did(:

Living with a man & DIY ideas for HIM

Okay Ladies, I know from recent personal experience that trying to compromise on home decor is hard to do with a man. Especially if you live with one that has endless deer heads, snake skins, and guns..{oh my!} But don't worry because there are some great ways to keep your house looking just the way you like! Here is what I did....

DIY: Open When Letters

On Friday I showed ya'll how Colton {the boyfriend} and I celebrated one year {check it out}. I promised I would be showing you the DIY present I made for him. Now, I did get him a bike like he had been talking about for months but I decided I wanted to give him something a little more personal too. These DIY letters are so easy and the only thing you have to do is write cute little love letters (who doesn't love that?seriously). A lot of the time It is hard to express how you really feel but with letters it gives you a chance to put time into your thoughts and really show how you feel. As soon as I saw this idea I knew it had to be done.

I put the stack of letters in his car the night before,so when he got into his car to go to work they were sitting right there..just to start the day out perfect! I was still in bed but when he read the first letter he came in the house with watery eyes...so preshh & totally worth it. Now, I am not going to tell you what I wrote inside the letters but I will tell you what I wrote on the outside to give you an idea on what you could do.

On the outside of all of the letters start off with

Open When...

...Right Now
...You want to know my dreams for our future
...You need a reminder of why I love you
...You are feeling insecure
...You need a smile
...We move into our new house
...You need a reminder of what we are fighting for

other cute ides:
(you are going to sleep without me//you are missing me//you had a bad day//I am being moody)

You can also put different things inside of the letters like pictures to make it even more personalized!
I can't wait until he opens them all and I get to see his reaction to each and every one of them. I would love to see if you decide to do this and what "open whens.." you decide to do!

brown sugar & honey scrub a dub dub

Why buy all of those expensive scrubs and  beauty products when you can just make it at home! Plus a little DIY always makes things more fun! My favorite part is that it only takes four ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry at home!
